Venlor XR is an antidepressant categorized as a selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SSNRI). This medication influences brain chemicals that may be out of balance, leading to depression. Venlor XR is prescribed for major depressive disorder, anxiety, and panic disorder.
Venlor XR is available in tablet or extended-release capsule form to be taken orally. The tablet is typically consumed two or three times a day with food, whereas the extended-release capsule is usually taken once daily, either in the morning or evening with food. It is important to take Venlor XR at roughly the same time each day. Adhere strictly to the instructions on your prescription label, and consult your doctor or pharmacist if anything is unclear. Use Venlor XR exactly as instructed, and do not alter your dosage or frequency without your doctor’s guidance.
Venlor XR manages depression but does not eliminate it. You may require 6 to 8 weeks or longer to experience the full effects of this medication. Continue taking Venlafaxine even if you start feeling better. Do not cease using Venlor XR without discussing it with your doctor, who will likely reduce your dose gradually.
Discontinuing Venlor XR abruptly may lead to withdrawal symptoms, which can include agitation; anxiety; confusion; feelings of sadness; irritability; intense or unusual excitement; coordination issues; difficulty sleeping or staying asleep; nightmares; nausea; vomiting; decreased appetite; diarrhea; dry mouth; excessive sweating; ringing in the ears; seizures; or sensations of burning, tingling, numbness, or electric shock in any part of the body. Notify your doctor if you encounter any of these symptoms while tapering your dose of Venlor XR or shortly after stopping the medication.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. However, if it’s less than two hours until your next dose, take only the upcoming dose and skip the missed one. Do not take two doses at once or exceed your prescribed amount.
